Mashed Potatoes 101.

okay, this might bore you.
hahaa.mum didnt cook dinner the other day cause she was out so daddy randomly said in the car .
"why dont we make mashed potatoes ?"
it was pretty shocking considering the fact that my daddy RARELY cooks. and i guess the last time he cooked was when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
but he's good la. really.

so we dropped by at atrian to pick up some potatoes and butter and other random stuff,
so here's how u make heavenly mashed potatoes. the world's favourite :D my favourite at least. :D

so firstly.

Get Good Quality Potatoes.


choosing the right potatoes is crucial.
not all potatoes are suitable. get the smaller ones. the big ones are too hard. not good.
get imported potatoes that is high in quality. usually its 1 kg for about 4.99.
can serve up toooo... about.. 5 people. depends.

then.

Wash Potatoes and Boil Them in medium heat.


nope, dont peel potato skin. they dont like to be nude. (:
when boiling
just make sure the water doesnt splash out or something.
put salt into the water. for what i dunno. ahha
the potatoes are in a hot spring. take care of them. (;
dont burn :D

boil for about half an hour or 1 hour.

poke potatoes when u think its ready. if its really easy to poke through, its done.

Soak potatoes in Cold Water.

(no need to be extremely cold)
then it'll be easy to strip. i mean. PEEL the skin off.

Put Potatoes into bowl or whatever and start mashing :D

*get a masher for best results*

Put in butter. (up to you on how much u wanna put.)

but, more butter, more flavour, more fats.

then add some salt . and pepper if u want.

add some cream / full cream milk until u achieve the consistency that u desire.

then serve :D

p/s: mashed potatoes are very versatile.
you can add as much or as little butter or salt or whatever. but of course, jgnlah terlampau, kan?
