We've been on hiatus since 2009. Deepest apologies on our part as its really not easy to run a blog with our busy schedule in high school. But now we're all done with SPM. So let the food adventures continue! This time, 10 times better and 10 times the juice.

BAD NEWS;
Water went inside my waterproof camera, and I'll only get my new one next week. :( Therefore, the snapshots aren't that clear.

During the hols, I went out with Naomi and her sis. :)
We ate @ Johnny's, One Utama.
Walk straight from Jusco supermarket and turn to your right. At the turning, you can spot the restaurant. It's a Thai restaurant by the way.

Had set lunch; A dish, drink, soup and ice cream for only RM8.90!
You can pick what dish, drink ice cream flavour you want. ;)

We walked out with a full tummy.

just to start off, Ohmy Slurps have been inactive for quite awhile.
i know its annoying to keep going back to a website that does not have updates time after time.
so i will try as hard as possible to keep this blog alive :D

one of my favourite italian restaurants (:

its located at ss2/75 next to Public bank.
Its owned by a real italian, if im not mistaken,
i think its so much better than that Buonosera (however u spell it)
as ss2/67.
their mushroom soup
IS THE BEST MUSHROOM SOUP EVER!

its like wild mushrooms and has this really unique taste. seriously best mushroom soup ever
yummyyyyy (:
each bowl (which is quite big to me) costs around 7 bucks or so.
for those who just wants a small meal with a friend.
u can order 2 mushroom soups and a garlic bread.
the garlic bread is really scrumptious :D
nicely toasted to perfection and together with the mushroom soup,
you have a match made in food haven. x)
its best if u go during lunch time, cause they have set meals which they charge according to the what main course you order, they just give u a complimentary soup and drink.

the Hawaiian Pizza :D

i love the pizzas there. the crust is nice and thin, a little bit crispy at the crust and fluffy on the inside. cheese is just PERFECT *drools

i forgot. AGAIN!
but its deep fried bread with cheese inside, served with a very nice tomato sauce
without the sauce tho, it would be pretty tasteless..

this dish costs 13 bucks.

really, worth trying.

their main courses are also not bad.

A very first for Ohmyslurps!
-NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE WHO HATE PRETTY TASTELESS DIM SUM.

Jin Xuan Dim Sum is located in Damansara Jaya,
its pretty hard not to notice its humungous sign board.
anyway, the place is rather big.
and usually you will notice its packed.
because its pretty cheap.

When we think of dim sum,
the main stars, the Har Gau (prawn dumplings), Char Siew Pau and Siew Mai and a few others comes to mind.
well which is mainly how people determine whether a restaurant is good OR not.

just to add, the prawns were very fresh. and that was what made me not hate the food that much.
because.

I LOVE PRAWNS ;D

this is the SIEW MAI.
which is not really good.
because the meat was abit like rubber.
and abit tasteless, sauce always comes in handy at times like these.
but personally, i like to eat most stuff as they are, the original flavour. (:

the Har Gau! im being bias. i love prawns
and they were pretty fresh.
but one thing tho, it was very. tasteless too.
and if the prawns werent fresh, all u could taste it that hanyir smell.

YUCK.

she said it was good.
but im not so sure.

ANOTHER PRAWN DIM SUM
hahahha.
okay im being honest here, it sucks.
its filled with jelatness.
its a Fried Yam with Prawn and Cheese.
i personally detest yam unless its ice cream.
and it was very oily, so really,
one bite was more than enough,

*i pulled the prawn out and left the others alone. :P

this was rather good.
except the fact that it was very oily.
its prawn also.
the outer part
is fried bread pieces.
and inside is A FRIGGIN MILLION PRAWNS.
hahahah
has different textures so it makes it appetizing.

that crunchiness of the fried bread and the springyyyyy prawnsssss

YUM.

I ate all that. I regreted eating the set cause I was so friggin full! I couldn't stuff anything else in my stomache. Anyway, my family ordered coffee and some other yummy food.

Like I said before, in my other Black Canyon post, the food is so yummy! Hahaha, okay I should get started on my project and hit the books. Exams are near! So stop thinking about food & study!

Mun Kee Steam Fish Head. (2)

We took my grandma out for Mother's Day dinner.

We ate @ Mun Kee Steam Fish Head. THE PLACE WAS PACKED! Even when we left at eight, there were still people waiting to be seated. My dad called for reservations, but they reserved the fish head for us instead of the table. Lol!

We ate all that for only RM67! That's a really cheap price for dishes and the food they serve is deliciouss. :D You can't find food that are cheap and nice that easily!

There are two outlets. :D I've eaten at both (Click HERE for the other one) but I suggest you should eat at the one in Taman Gembira cause they serve chicken there (the other one doesn't). I don't think they reserve seats cause there are too many people but no worries, you don't have to wait long! There, I've just given you a good makan place suggestion for Mother's Day!

Paddington House of Pancakes.

OMGG, Paddington House of Pancakes are sooooooo good! The only thing I dislike is that you have to choose from 1034728975 pancakes and the menu is so thick that you can't think! But still, their pancakes are super yummy!

They have lunch and dinner sets on weekdays (except Fri) and they're way cheap! The pancakes come together with their signature chips and refillable drinks, all for RM17++! When the pancakes they serve can come up to RM35 or more. Fuyoh, I'm gonna get my mommy to bring me there for lunch!

I went shopping @ Mid Valley Megamall yesterday. :D

My parents and I decided to have a go for lunch @ Gurney Drive. It's in the new wing, The Gardens. They have the 16 best hawkers from Penang to cook for us and OMG, original Penang food is sooooooo nice compared to the normal hawker food we have here! You have gotta try. :D

Silver Pot Restaurant

Quite some time ago, my family and I were finding a good steamboat restaurant. Good ol' Google helped us, and we headed to Silver Pot Restaurant.

We sat on the table of 6. Each had our own mini pot which 'surprisingly' is silver in colour, and we can choose our own soup from either Tom Yam or Chicken. There won't be any food fights cause we can put in whatever we want since its our own pot :)

To those who are not sure about what steamboats are, it is when we can order raw food and we put it inside the pot provided, ourselves and basically cooking our own food.

The menu has a lot to offer. U can even have sushi ( you have to put the sushi in your pot) .They offer fried rice and such as well. Price all together for 5 of us were around 105 Ringgit but we were small eaters that night. Don't get me wrong, it was not cause we did not like the food, but we just had a lot going on that day.

You can finish it off with a lovely sea coconut with honey!

so as some of you know, Oh My Slurps came out in the Star Metro Paper page yesterday (: so for those who've just came here, HI :D and hopefully you guys will come back often and check our what we have in store for you (:

recently, actually yesterday, My family and I together with a few friends went to this restaurant in Ampang which my mum's friend owns.

its called Restaurant Han Han (which is the owner's name) and it serves a variety of dishes but its specialties are their hand-made Pan Mee and is with no doubt, really good.

Their braised minced meat with rice is also one of the crowd pleasers, their braised minced meat served with rice is a recipe originated from Taiwan, my mum's birth place :D
not only do they serve eastern cuisine, but western too. Here you can find chicken chops, lamb chops which i havent tried but it sure does look good. The price is okay i guess. its just like Old Town's prices.

the i forgot what its called ABC. its like the Ai Yu Bing u find in the Pasar malam (:

this, is the Dan Dan Mien ( noodles)
also a famous Taiwanese delicacy.
which i enjoy so much when i was a kid ( because i dont go back to taiwan so often)

this is the dry pan mee. with soy sauce, anchovies, and these crispy things that i really like.
something like the wan tan mee.

the five assorted dishes?
haha theres fried popiah, fried wantons, nuggets and the taiwanese sausage.
which honestly in my opinion, the taiwanese sausage u eat in Malaysia is really ciplak.
go to Taiwan and try the REAL sausage. its not pink like the malaysian ones and its more flavorful and juicy and tasty (:

TADA! this is the infamous Pan Mee, (hand teared.)
the soup is clear and tasty, the Pan Mee ever so soft and has this texture to it.
as what most of us would say, the pan mee was very "Q"
i had a hard time trying to use my chopsticks to pick one up cause it wwas so smooth. haha

I didn't know I would be eating at Pak Li so I didn't bring my camera! I had no choice but to use my phone camera and it's only 2 megapixels. So it won't look yummy sangat and the pictures are all blurry. :( Well, it's the taste that counts right? Haha.

You can find Pak Li at the Kota Damansara shop lots there ; you know, where Perfection is? Their food rocks and their drinks are damn cheap. You can buy ice blended mocha for only RM4.60 and it's a big cup!

My family and I always sit at the same place, and I mean exactly the same! Mommy will always sit next to me, lol. I don't know why but we love that place. Okay, okay. I know you want to see the food. :D

Hello! :D Ever heard of Satay Kajang? They sell the best juciest yummiest satays ever! Their kuah and ice kacang tastes really good too. My parents asked why I keep taking pics of food, lol.

If you want take away, make sure you ask them to "tambah kuah"! They'll give you an extra big packet if they're kind. ;) My family would dip toast bread into the kuah and eat it for breakfast. It's not disgusting! It's yummy! I could bet you a hundred bucks.

You guys should try eating at Black Canyon. Especially BU3ians cause you can just walk over to Centrepoint! Haha, not only are they known for their coffee but their food too! Super duper yummay. :D You crack your brain to see what food is nice or not cause they're all nice!

They even have sets that comes with watermelon juice and soup. The price is reasonable and worth it. ;) Plus, their chairs are so coooool!

Aren't their sausages just the coolest? ;)

My mom, brother, and I went to a place called Rasta. It is not exactly a restaurant, more like an open food court but more secluded. If u go there, you will definitely know it is a place for rowdy teenagers to hang out XD

A lot of choices of food, nothing high class. Moderate price but nice food.

It is a place to go. Not a place you should bring your partner to though. More like a place to have bonding sessions in.

on daddy's birthday ( the english calendar one) went for dinner at Umai Ya. for the ... 5th time already cause its so nice there :D

daddy is actually a really really good cook.

that day he was hungry so he bought some mozarella cheese
and made his own mashed potatoes
and created heaven.
ahhahaha.
he put the mashed potatoes in a coffee cup, and topped it with the mozarella cheese
and baked it .
and made each of us one of that.
OMG so nice man.
the good part of it is that its in a small portion so you wont get jelat or anything.

Mashed Potatoes 101.

okay, this might bore you.
hahaa.mum didnt cook dinner the other day cause she was out so daddy randomly said in the car .
"why dont we make mashed potatoes ?"
it was pretty shocking considering the fact that my daddy RARELY cooks. and i guess the last time he cooked was when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
but he's good la. really.

so we dropped by at atrian to pick up some potatoes and butter and other random stuff,
so here's how u make heavenly mashed potatoes. the world's favourite :D my favourite at least. :D

so firstly.

Get Good Quality Potatoes.

choosing the right potatoes is crucial.
not all potatoes are suitable. get the smaller ones. the big ones are too hard. not good.
get imported potatoes that is high in quality. usually its 1 kg for about 4.99.
can serve up toooo... about.. 5 people. depends.

then.

Wash Potatoes and Boil Them in medium heat.

nope, dont peel potato skin. they dont like to be nude. (:
when boiling
just make sure the water doesnt splash out or something.
put salt into the water. for what i dunno. ahha
the potatoes are in a hot spring. take care of them. (;
dont burn :D

boil for about half an hour or 1 hour.

poke potatoes when u think its ready. if its really easy to poke through, its done.

Soak potatoes in Cold Water.

(no need to be extremely cold)
then it'll be easy to strip. i mean. PEEL the skin off.

Put Potatoes into bowl or whatever and start mashing :D

*get a masher for best results*

Put in butter. (up to you on how much u wanna put.)

but, more butter, more flavour, more fats.

then add some salt . and pepper if u want.

add some cream / full cream milk until u achieve the consistency that u desire.

then serve :D

p/s: mashed potatoes are very versatile.
you can add as much or as little butter or salt or whatever. but of course, jgnlah terlampau, kan?

Yeo! :) Exams are one day away and I bet everybody's trying to survive the week and struggling to keep their eyes open and on the book instead of the computer or food. I know I am, hehe. Let me give you a tip on studying :

ALWAYS HAVE A LIGHT SNACK WITH YOU.

I don't know about you but everytime I study, I must have my headphones plugged in and light snacks to eat in order to keep away from distraction. Don't worry about getting fat, studying is an exercise. ;P What types of snacks can we eat?

OREO CHEESECAKE!

I wanted to try it at Chili's but they don't serve it anymore. Because of that, THEY ARE GONNA LOSE CUSTOMERS LIKE ME. I remember this guy found out that they don't serve oreo cheesecake anymore and said, "If I knew there wasn't any oreo cheesecake, I wouldn't have come." Omg, so true!

On Sunday, daddy took us out.

then daddy decided to take us to gold coast, MALAYSIA.

hahaha.

we went to this restaurant by the beach, Golden Sea.

gosh, it was sooo beautiful :D

the sand was so silky and the water wasnt that dirty :D
